First off, I have to say it…
We have such a hard life.
We were forced to go to Tulum, Mexico, and relax for 4 days, while shooting a wedding. It was so bad, that Daniel and I even had to swim through an epic cave, and see the Mayan ruins. We seriously have such a hard life.
Now, back to the wedding.
We, including Lindsey, had been checking our phones frequently up to the day we arrived in Mexico, hoping that the forecast would change. Rain? During a destination wedding? For the whole 4 days? It seemed like something you’d see from a bad movie. We had an amazing trip planned, and alas, mother nature interceded, so it seemed, and made it to where we’d be clinging to our umbrellas constantly. Like there was an umbrella thief running around, even.
My amazing Comedy Central stand-up special quality jokes aside, we arrived in Mexico, to be greeted by none other than zero clouds. As in the opposite of the forecast. This continued for the whole trip, which got everybody thinking… Maybe they were wrong! Would we not see a drop of rain the whole time?
Why, Matthew, are you talking about the forecast, and not about the amazing couple? Well, you see, things changed. Lindsey and Sean rock, but we had no idea just how awesome their whole family was, until things changed.
During the “reception” part of the evening, which included steak dinners near the ocean, mother nature finally arrived. What started out as sprinkles, quickly changed to a downpour, in literally seconds. Nobody could escape the rain in time… Not even the steak dinners. While Daniel stayed for a second, contemplating whether or not he could bear to part with food, we quickly saved our gear, only to notice that everybody and everything was completely soaked. That includes Lindsey, Sean, and both of their families… This is the part in which we found out just how awesome they all were.
In an instant, they decided to go back out into the rain… and jump into the pool. Wearing dresses, suits, and all. In what could have been a catastrophic event that ruined everything, everybody had an even better time because of it. It seriously looked like something from a movie, only this time, a great one. My camera, which was soaked, got most of it before eventually going into crazy mode (which is the technical name for what happened), so even though a few images are barely out of focus towards the moment I described above, I wanted everybody to see just how amazing Lindsey and Sean truly are.
Without making this post into a novel, I give you our vacation! I mean Lindsey and Sean’s wedding!
